Audio Boutique — Zero to €480k Revenue in Year One

April 16, 2026

Category: Premium audio · Region: Netherlands · Engagement: Webshop setup + supplier access + 12-month operator advisory

The starting point

The founder had ten years operating in finance, no e-commerce experience, and a personal passion for audio equipment. She came to us with €70,000 of launch capital and a clear thesis: there is no premium-only Dutch audio reseller serving the €300-€2,000 product range with proper merchandising and post-sale service.

What we did

  • Built a custom premium store with editorial product pages for 80 hero SKUs
  • Secured authorized reseller status with four brands across two months of paperwork
  • Set up 3PL fulfillment in Eindhoven with branded packaging
  • Implemented a structured advisory cadence — biweekly calls reviewing margin, velocity, and SKU mix

Year-one results

  • Revenue: €482,000
  • Gross margin: 42%
  • Average order value: €620
  • Profitability achieved: month 7
  • Authorized brands at year end: 7 (started with 4)

What made it work

The single biggest factor was discipline on catalogue depth. The founder resisted the temptation to add hundreds of low-margin accessories and stayed focused on hero SKUs. By month nine she had earned the right to ask suppliers for better terms — and got them.
