The starting point

Two co-founders, both with food and beverage industry backgrounds, identified an underserved segment in Spanish e-commerce: premium home espresso and kitchen appliances above the €500 price point. The big-box retailers in Spain do not curate this range well, and the brand-direct sites have poor service quality.

What we did

  • Built a Spanish-language premium store with category education content
  • Secured authorized reseller status with three category-leading brands across espresso, kitchen mixers, and specialty appliances
  • Negotiated direct distributor relationships rather than going through Spanish wholesalers
  • Set up local fulfillment with returns handling in Madrid

  • Repeat or referred customer rate at year end: 24%

What made it work

The decision to invest heavily in pre-purchase customer education (long-form articles, product comparison pages, video) before they spent on paid traffic. By the time they turned on Google Ads, their organic search position was already strong — which made every paid click cheaper.
